Bachata is about connecting with your dance partner. Another popular Latin dance in Los Angeles, Bachata music can be found in many of LA’s best Latin clubs. It originates from the Dominican Republic with African influences, and has similarities to Salsa, Merengue, and Cumbia. Whereas Salsa is danced front to back, Bachata is danced side to side in either open or closed position; it can be a very seductive, romantic and playful dance.
Argentine Tango is a beautiful dance whose roots are over 150 years old. Tango is about passion, feeling, allowing and leading, and moments. Originally from Argentina, and influenced by European folk dancing, tango has changed and evolved to include many different ways and styles. From traditional to Nuevo, or from open to closed position, tango has an exhaustive movement vocabulary to choose from. On a physical level however, one thing is for certain: tango is all about LEGS.
